Within Mannenji temple in Iwamizawa, Japan stands a small, ornately dressed doll with unusually long, realistic hair… and that’s the mysterious part. According to the tale, the doll had short-cropped hair when first purchased in 1918 as a present for a young girl named Okiku. When the girl died a year later, her grieving family placed it in a shrine in her honor, after which they claim its hair started to grow. The family believed the daughter’s spirit resided within the doll, and eventually donated it to the temple in 1938, where it remains today. Apparently several attempts have been made to trim the doll’s hair – which was analyzed and determined to be real human hair – but it always grows back.

My view on this is that why do people think about this matter in another point of view??For example, this doll's could have been lenghtened by the dead girls own family members or the hair could be lenghtened by the priests in the temple just to have many visitors coming to the temple.Who knows, may be the doll might have had long hair eversince it was made.Nobody has seen how this doll originally was in 1918.Therefore it is easy for people to makeup their own stories about the doll's hair because, after all, people are just looking forward to sensational news, whether its true or not.

this story scares me because this is the first time am listening to such sort of a tale. people claim such things because its not verifiable. i personally don't believe these stuff.
ReplyDeletejapenese people have a way with telling such folklores. No one is going to wantedly increase the hair length. This feels rather odd and is disturbing.
ReplyDeletethese dolls might have been possessed by ghosts for there is no other rational reason..so i think its true.
ReplyDeletesuch dolls are nothing but stories that are cooked up by the locals just for publicity. the claim that it is human air is not convincing and i think that there should be more research into it.
